Hey there! I’m Jonathan!

Philadelphia, PA

I'm an Infrastructure and Security Engineer.

I graduated in 2019 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Computer Science and Information Technology & Web Science.

Previously, I was a Site Reliability Engineer at Authentic8 where I led an effort to containerize and orchestrate stateful applications using CRIU, ensuring live sessions cleanly migrated between production servers which allowed for session consolidation and improved resource management. I also participated in an overhaul of infrastructure dynamic scaling code, which improved responsiveness to sudden spikes in demand.

Prior to Authentic8, I was a Site Reliability Engineer in Market Data at Susquehanna International Group, contributing to efforts to modernize monitoring and observability for incoming and internal market data feeds, their associated metadata, and the infrastucture that powered them. I also got to manage and evaluate next-generation time applicances that governed market data and packet timestamping.

Before that, I was Security Engineer in Monitoring & Incident Response (also at Susquehanna) focusing on cybersecurity monitoring and detection, incident response, threat intelligence, and vulnerability/patch management.

In the summer of 2018, I was a Virtual Platforms intern at Susquehanna, concentrating on virtualization benchmarks to evaluate virtual machine performance across a variety of hypervisors, server and processor architectures, workloads, and other conditions.

I also enjoy flying (planes and gliders!), gravel cycling, photography, amateur radio, and houseplants!
